** April 1, 2005.
Princessa has just finished its first upgrade of a former Superior cottage. The new cottage is now called a DeLuxe cottage and has 2 international high class hotel rooms. The whole process was carried out under the lead and supervision of the Manila based architect Hans Palma. He paid great attention to combine modern materials for the construction while all the while still keeping the traditional feel in the rooms through local decorations. The two DeLuxe rooms are now available to our esteemed guests. The outcome of the upgrade has been very positive and the reactions so far have made us decide to start immediately with the upgrade of the second Superior cottage.
** To come during 2005.
Princessa Holiday Resort has decided that before the end of 2005 it will build a Sundeck with two gazebos attached to it, fronting the South China Sea. The complete structure will be over 21 meters long, 8 meters wide and stand elevated (approximately 1.80 meters) so that the guests will be able to have a constant view of the sea. The connected gazebos will serve as seafront restaurant and bar.
** August 15 2005. Sundeck
Progress on the sundeck under construction is remarkable. At the present rate of construction, the sundeck will be finished by September 30 2005. It will be a fabulous improvement for the guests, having the opportunity to relax on a huge elevated open air sundeck facing the sea. There are also two big covered gazebos attached to the sundeck for comfortable relaxing in the shadow. Closeby, a rest room for men and ladies is also under construction. The sundeck cum gazebos will offer space for sea view dining.
** August 16 2005. Superior rooms upgrade
We have started the upgrade of 8 superior rooms (4 cottages). The improvements comprise painting of the outside walls in bright colors, painting of the walls and ceilings of the rooms in broken white. The result is a very clean room which is much brighter. The effect is even enhanced by adding lights in the room. The upgrade process is still ongoing as we are changeing the furniture to increase the comfort of our guests.
Of the original 16 superior rooms, 4 are left in the original state, 8 are upgraded and 4 have been converted in Deluxe rooms. The face of Princessa is changing rapidly and improvements are ongoing. Please visit the Photo Gallery on our website and see for yourself.
** August 19 2005. Honeymoon packages.
Princessa Holiday Resort has signed a cooperation agreement with "Philippine Sky Top Travel & Tours", a Korean based travel agency, for Honeymoon Packages exclusively for the Korean market. We now offer two honeymoon packages, 3D/2N and 4D/3N. ** September 25, 2005. Second Deluxe cottage finished
We are proud to announce that our second deluxe cottage is now fully finished and ready to accept guests. It is fully identical to the first cottage but with different color pattern. Our Deluxe cottage both have two high quality airconditioned rooms with all new furniture. We will continue the upgrade programme during 2006.
Next in line is the viewdeck with its own comfort rooms.
** October 27, 2005. Viewdeck added to Princessa facilities
Our guests will be surprised with the latest addition to our outstanding facilities, a viewdeck of 7.00m by 20.00m, 2.00m above the beach level, facing the Sulu Sea. There are two gazebos and a sundeck. This is the ideal spot for intimate diners at the sea, party cocktails and drinks, quiet reading space in the afternoon, sunbathing in full comfort or anything your imagination can invent. Come and try it...there will be no regrets.
** April 27, 2006. 10th anniversary of PHR
Princessa Holiday Resort started operations in 1995, on April 27. We have cared for a large number of Filipino, Asian, American and European guests and received praise for our facilities, service and our staff. We like to thank all the guests who visited us for the confidence they demonstrated in our Resort. Princessa is planning major upgrades...and before the end of 2006 we hope to install a wireless broadband system making Princessa Holiday Resort the first Resort Hot zone in Palawan.
** September 21, 2006. Wireless broadband agreement signed.
Princessa oliday Resort President, Maria Terresa Van den Berghe, Biometrix Philippines CTO Raul Ocampo Jr. and TNRI President HB Yalun signed the agreement to install a proof of concept sattelite wireless broadband system in the resort in Palawan. Site survey will start immediately and the target date for implementation is before end of the year 2006. This will be carried out with the IP Star sattelite technology.
** October 20, 2006. Third deluse cottage started.
In its continuous effort to upgrade Princessa Holiday Resort the management has decided to start the construction of the third deluxe cottage. The fourth deluxe cottage will be started early in 2007.
** December 24, 2006. First group of Russian guests.
On December 2004 Princessa Holiday Resort welcomed its first group of Russian Tourists, Ms. Olga V. Kotova and party from Moscou. They were delighted with the prestine beach, liked the native cottages a lot and enjoyed every bit of the dishes they were offered. The group stayed until January 2, 2007 when they travelled to the Underground River National Park. Just like General Mc Arthur half a century ago, they promised to return.
** December 29, 2006. PHR is first hotzone Resort in Palawan.
The technical team from BiometriX-TNRI, consisting of Mr. Raul Ocampo CTO and Inyaki Gonzales engineer IP Star, arrived in Princessa Holiday Resort on December 28 and installed in 2 hours the IP Star sattelite connection. They also installed 3 access points, one in the reception. restaurant and the viewdeck. On December 29 our guests could enjoy surfing the web, accessing their emails, making cheap VOIP calls, downloading music and even viewing videos and IP TV programmes. .. all this in a radius of 100m around the access points. The proof of concept will run till January 31. During the POC access will be fully free. From February onwards, 11 more access points will be installed so that the complete resort area will be fully accessible for wifi.
** January 2, 2007. Business center .
Since the instalation of Wifi and the enthousiastic reactions of our guests, the management has decided to build a Business Center in the resort. This will allow guests that did not bring their laptops to access the internet via the resort's computer. Constructions started on January 2 and will be finished on January 18, 2007.
Management is also considering setting up an internet cafe type of activity in the first quarter of 2007.
These activities are in view of making Princessa Holiday Resort the first real business Resort in southern Palawan.
